Ninety percent of what comes out of a cleanout or renovation can go straight in the bin. The other ten percent is where overweight fees and awkward phone calls come from. Here are the seven items we cannot haul, and what to do with each one.
The no-go list
- Wet paint, stains, and solvents (dried-out cans are fine)
- Tires, on or off the rim
- Car batteries and lithium battery packs
- Refrigerators and AC units with refrigerant still charged
- Propane tanks and fuel cans
- Asbestos and suspected asbestos materials
- Liquid waste of any kind
Why it matters
A single wet paint can in a 2 ton load can mean the whole bin gets rejected at the transfer station. That cost lands on somebody, and we would rather it land on nobody.
Blount County runs household hazardous waste collection events through the year, and most auto parts stores take batteries and tires for a small fee. When in doubt, text us a photo before you toss it.
The full accepted and restricted list lives in our dumpster rental FAQ, and every bin page spells out what fits. Clean fill like dirt and concrete can't go in a mixed load. Call or Text us about heavy material.
